“As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)
“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers…and day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts….” (Acts 2:42,46 ESV)
New Hope Presbyterian Church is committed to fostering a welcoming, friendly environment that encourages and strengthens the local family while also serving as a “church family” for all.
We believe that the immediate family is designed by God and intended to be a blessing; therefore ministry at New Hope is deliberately designed to encourage—and not undermine—your own immediate family. Many activities—including worship, shepherding groups, luncheons, Movie Nights, WAVE team, etc—are designed so that the entire family can participate together. This has the added benefit of bringing people of all ages, genders, generations, and walks of life together.
At the same time, we recognize that people of different ages, gender, and calling can often benefit from fellowship with others facing the same challenges. For that reason we have different Sunday School classes for all ages, an active Youth group, a Young Adults group, and multiple ladies bible studies. While children of all ages are always welcome in worship, we also offer a clean, new nursery for little ones when needed.
We also believe that the the congregation as a whole is called to function as a “church family” for all, including those who may not have immediate family. We have a weekly coffee hour every Sunday after worship, a monthly midweek fellowship luncheon, and monthly shepherding groups meeting in homes to further the sense of family and community within the congregation.
