Art Camp Day 2 ~ 2026
Today was another wonderful day of Art Camp! The younger children learned about different gases in outer space—xenon, neon, argon, krypton, and helium—and their various colors–blue, red/orange, green, and pink, respectively; with these colors in mind, they painted the universe on a canvas. (This will be the background for tomorrow’s project, when they focus on the moon!) The middle group already began painting their moons with puff paint (or puffy paint), 3-d paint that captures the mountains, craters, and uneven surface of the moon. Finally, the older kids began working on a moonlit night that they’re painting on old vinyl records albums!
Meanwhile, we are working our way together through Psalm 19 (“The heavens declare the glory of God…”), while beginning to memorize much of Psalm 8 (“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!…”); we’re also continuing to learn our hymn, “How Great Thou Art!” Also, the storm missed us, so the kids were able to get outside again today and enjoy some recreation. Plus, we began working on making wind chimes!
