Strong, Reformed Teaching of God’s Word:
New Hope Presbyterian Church is committed to the thorough, systematic preaching and teaching of God’s Word to equip believers and to challenge unbelievers.
We begin with the conviction that only God’s Word is truly able to change us—to free us from our limited (and often self-centered) perspective and to lead us to look in humble repentance and faith to Jesus Christ.
We believe—along with the apostle Paul—that “all Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.”
Therefore, we work systematically through all of the Bible (not just the easy parts!), knowing that a healthy spiritual diet will include both the Old and New Testaments, both the law and gospel.
We approach all of Scripture from a pastoral, Christ-centered perspective, knowing that all Scripture was written to instruct us and to lead us to Christ, and we always seek to make the meaning, relevance, and application of each passage clear to all.
Finally, we approach God’s Word from a Reformed perspective, which means that we believe in historic, biblical Christianity as confessed by the historic Christian church and as exemplified during the Reformation.
“I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.”
Acts 20:27 ESV
“…Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.”
