Afraid of commitment?
Of course you are! You don’t want to get stuck in an unhealthy relationship or in a dead-end job; you don’t want to get stuck in a bad situation or with a responsibility you can’t ever shake! Of course you’re afraid of commitment, but here’s the catch: our fear of commitment reveals that we’re already committed—to ourselves! We’re all committed to ourselves and to whatever we think is best for us. Jesus is Lord, and He calls you to commit yourself to Him and to His people instead. Serve yourself, or serve the Lord? Serve yourself, or serve His people?

A Christian is someone who has committed his or her self in faith to the Lord and to His people.

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. Psalm 37:5 ESV

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. Acts 2:42 ESV
