Are you a skeptic? Do you distrust the Bible and its promises?
Skepticism and distrust aren’t necessarily wrong; there are things we should be skeptical of, and there are things we shouldn’t trust. In fact, if you aren’t trusting in Jesus, it probably means that you are trusting something that you shouldn’t; it means you’re probably not as skeptical as you should be! Perhaps you’ve bought in to the lie that you can do it yourself, figure life out by yourself, live for yourself and save yourself; maybe you believe that you can give your life your own meaning and direction. Don’t believe it! Don’t be so gullible! You need a healthy dose of self-distrust! Stop trusting in yourself, and you may be well on your way towards trusting in Christ.
“It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.” (Psalm 118:8 ESV)
