Crates for Ukraine 3.0 is Now Open!

We’re thankful to the PCA for once again inviting us to participate in the next iteration of Crates for Ukraine—known as 3.0—their third iteration of the Crates for Ukraine effort. The aim of this effort, like the two previous, is to help those in need in war-torn Ukraine. We need your help—and don’t worry, you don’t need to have participated previously to join this effort.

The OPC Committee on Diaconal Ministries believes that the Crates for Ukraine 3.0 is a worthy ministry for OPC churches to engage in to demonstrate the love of Christ to brothers and sisters, as well as those not walking with Jesus, suffering in Ukraine. To encourage as much participation as possible, the CDM is again offering financial assistance to eligible churches who participate in this effort. To apply or find out more, go to: OPCCDM.org.

This iteration is scheduled to run from now to November 21, 2023. The process for participating is much the same as before:

  • Step 1: register
  • Step 2: pack (prescribed lists)
  • Step 3: deliver to a local drop off point

Just like the last iteration, the process has been carefully mapped out on the Crates for Ukraine website and is very easy to follow, but with slight differences, so be sure to read carefully. You’ll want to act quickly as this portion of the effort wraps up November 21, 2023 (be sure to register by November 10).

On the CFU site, you’ll notice that the instructions are very similar to CFU #2, but there is one major difference. This time around, MTW has created specific prescribed lists, so it’s even easier to pack the crates. No guessing, just follow the list exactly to pack your crates.

This unique opportunity is open to all! The need is great and the more help, the better.

During the last iteration, the OPC delivered an amazing 307 filled crates as part of Mission to the World’s Crates for Ukraine Winter Edition (iteration #2). Seventy-two OP Churches from 16 presbyteries in 24 states participated! MTW L’viv team leader, Doug Shepherd, is hugely grateful for the OPC’s participation in the relief efforts here. We are “punching way above our weight class,” he says. A report for the overall MTW CFU Winter Effort revealed that over 1300 crates were received! Praise the Lord for the connected church and for His work during this terrible time!

Let’s do it again! Who is in?
