How do you know if God has given you a new heart?

Ask yourself the following questions:

1. Do you believe that the whole Bible is God’s Word, and that it is true and perfect like God is? (Ps. 19:7-10; 2 Timothy 3:15-17)

2. Do you believe that the Bible teaches you the one and only way to be saved? (1 Timothy 2:5,6; John 14:6; Acts 4:12)

3. Have you confessed your sin to God, and are you sorry enough to hate it and turn away from it? (1 John 1:9; Ps. 32:1-7; Colossians 3:5; Romans 3:19,20)

4. Do you believe that Jesus came to die on the cross in the place of sinners who cannot save themselves, since no one can be saved by their own good works? (Romans 5:6-11; Titus 3:4-7; Ephesians 2:4-9)

5. Are you trusting only in Jesus, God the Son, to save you from sin, death, and hell so you might have life now and forever? (John 3:16-18; 11:25,26; Romans 6:23; 1 Timothy 6:14-16)

6. Is Jesus Lord and Master of your life, and with God’s help will you continually strive to stop sinning in your thoughts, words, and actions? (Colossians 2:29; 3:5-9; Hebrews 12:1-4; Romans 13:12,13)

7. As God keeps working in you, do you promise to live for Jesus and to follow Him even if you have to give up something you love because you follow Him? (Luke 9:23-26, 61,62; Philippians 1:9-21; Acts 5:29; Galatians 5; Colossians 3-4; Ephesians 4-5
