Installation of New Officers

Ron Elwell and Rich Duggan were installed as new officers at New Hope Presbyterian Church on February 20, 2022. Both men had been ordained and served at our sister church, Faith OPC in Pole Tavern, before coming to New Hope.

The installation took place at the end of the worship service following a sermon Pastor Taylor preached on the qualifications of elder and deacon. Both men and the congregation responded to questions from Pastor Taylor during the installation.

After the service, everyone greeted Ron and Rich and enjoyed a time of refreshments in the fellowship hall, including a commemorative cake. We praise God for raising up these men to serve as leaders in the church and pray for even more as the church continues to grow.

What’s Next?

Ron Elwell now serves as an elder on our session, helping to lead the church spiritually. His responsibilities include working with Session governing the church and teaching adult Sunday School classes. He is also the new Sunday School Superintendent, overseeing the teachers and curriculum.

Rich Duggan, as a deacon, is focusing more on helping to meet the physical needs of people both within our congregation and in the community. Our deacons care for the widows, elderly, and other needy members of our church family. They also often help people from the community who reach out to the church.
