Texas Deep Freeze

Immediate need for professional plumbers— response needed by Thursday (2/25) at 5 p.m.

In the world of disaster response, we just never know what will come our way! This is for sure a bit unusual, but our goals are the same—to get churches back to worship and families back to normal. The Lord knows what is needed and we are very thankful for the many who have been checking in with us (including a plumber who just finished the Midland project!) I’m sure you’ve seen in the news recently, the U.S. South has been dealing with temperatures most have never experienced before.

Here’s what we know:

  • Rolling blackouts, due to the weather conditions across Texas caused water lines to freeze and burst, leading to the flooding of many homes.
  • OPC Disaster Response has been in contact with OP churches and the Presbytery of the Southwest and has learned of an immediate need for plumbers to make necessary repairs in order to get water restored to homes.

Do you know a professional plumber who might be willing to volunteer their services in Texas?
OPC Disaster Response plans to cover their travel and living expenses.

If you are available, please contact us right away: opcdisasterresponse@opc.org.

Donations: Some have asked about monetary gifts for this effort. We welcome such donations made out to the OPC, designated for Disaster Response.
