While our pastor and his family enjoyed a little vacation break this week, we welcomed Reverend David Smiley and his lovely wife and friendly children to New Hope. He preached a good message on I Kings 19 “Why Does God Have You Here?” that was encouraging, reminding us that when things get hard, God, in His mercy, cares for us, nourishes us, and strengthens us to continue on the path He has chosen for us, just as He did for Elijah.
