What are you ashamed of? Is there something you are hiding or are embarrassed about? Is there something you keep secret that you don’t want others to know? While some things are personal and private (and should probably remain that way), we don’t want to live a life of shame. If you are doing (or have done) something shameful, or if something has happened to you that you are ashamed of– bring that to the Lord, and be open before Him. Let Christ wash you and remove your sense of shame. Consider also whether it would be wise or helpful to include a trusted friend or advisor to counsel and encourage you. Christ has taken the shame of the cross that we might be freed from a life of shame.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. (Psalm 34:4,5 ESV)
