What does preaching do for you?
Do you find it dull, boring, and uninteresting?
Does your mind wander, or do you find yourself easily distracted?
Do you wish you could get more out of it?
First, prepare your heart for worship. Ask the Lord to help you focus. (The sermon outline on the back may help). Second, ask the Lord to help you hear what you need to hear; it honors the Lord when we come to His Word with an attitude of expectation. Third, receive the Word with faith, and act on it. Don’t just be a hearer of the Word; be a doer!

“If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” (Mark 4:23 ESV)

“…We also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.” (1 Thessalonians 2:13 ESV)

“…Be doers of the word, and not hearers only…” (James 1:22 ESV)
